We are Donna and Joe Bradley of the “Radiance Center,” and we are reaching out for your help with a miracle.
The two of us, both 72 years old, have been married for 48 years. Early in our life together, we adopted 17 fetal drug children who had been violently abused. Our family became such a healing place that NBC made a documentary about us, and people came from all over the world to learn how to love these children into wholeness. They referred to us as a “mini United Nations” because our children were of every race, every religion, every possible experience of abuse and torture.
The children taught us who humans really are and what they need to thrive. We were in awe because even after such extremely intense beginnings, our children still took the risk of reaching out to give and receive love. What courage and vulnerability! Oh the healing power of love!
After the children took flight, we were still over-flowing with love, so we created a non-profit to teach both the parenting of children, and also the unconditional loving for ourselves. For over 18 years, we have provided a wonderfully safe, profoundly productive, and dynamic environment where we teach adults to create functional, joyous, passionate lives… no matter what they experienced as children.
Our services have been so extraordinarily successful that we have once again outgrown our home / Center. We are so ready to welcome people from all over the world to learn skills that they can take home to their own communities to address the issues of such an intense world. We teach not only the communication skills, but also the attitudes of Love and Compassion so that they can effectively deal with racism, sexual violence, poverty, hunger, environmental and political oppression. We spend hours everyday helping people all over the world learn to deal with such issues.
But perhaps even more important, we teach joy. We teach fun. We teach solutions rather than problems… because that is the root of true transformation.
And we charge nothing… only accept donations. No salary. We do this because we can’t stop teaching what our children taught us.
The world needs living proof of hope… of love… of truth… because the Truth for all of us is that we need to give and receive love. We need to belong to one another. We need to be part of miracles.
